The tabs across the top of the screen group information into categories for ease of use. There are several locked tabs that can not be edited but additional user customisable tabs can be created by clicking the add new tab button. You can edit the name of custom tabs with the edit tab name button and tabs can be deleted with the delete tab button.

Chart Settings

There are quite a few options for a chart, it is best to try a few different combinations so you can see what makes sense to you with the data that you want to see, the options are presented as follows:

  • Item Header - Can be left in “Generate” mode or a custom header can be entered.
  • Chart type - Choose a visualisaion type for the data.
    • Trend line - Plots a line with time on the horizontal axis and the value of the chosen data source on the vertical axis.
    • Trend bar - Plots bars with time on the horizontal axis and the value of the chosen data source on the vertical axis.
    • Heaped bar - Aggregates values across your chosen groups over the entire time frame. Plots groups on the horizontal axis and the aggregated value of the chosen data source for those groups, on the vertical axis.
  • Data Source - Allows you to select different types of statistics.
  • Group by - Allows you to group the displayed stats in order to see how a particular aspect of the asset or network was performing, you could select all ingress points or all radios as an example.
  • Start Time - The start of the time frame shown in this item's visualisation, there are three kinds of options:
    • Custom - This option allows you to select an exact start time using the date/time selector.
    • Sync with timeline start - This option synchronises the item's start time with the beginning of the map timeline.
    • ___ before end time - This option synchronises the item's start time with the chosen amount of time before the item's end time - Includes options like “15 minutes before end time”
  • Filter by … - Allows a user to search for a particular item and filters the data based on the search results, it is handy for comparing trucks quickly. Can also be put in “Selected” mode which will filter results based on what is selected in the map/quicklist.

Table Settings

Table settings are the same as charts settings with the following exception:

  • There is only a single table type.

Status Settings

Status settings are the same as charts settings with the following exceptions:

  • There is only a single status type
  • Item Size - Item size will effect the size of the circles on the status dashboard item.

Other Settings

Charts based on dynamic stats such as Estimated Movement have a configurable Aggregation Type. Changing this will change the way that the data is aggregated.

You may choose from:

  • Average
  • Sum
  • Count
  • Max
  • Min

Hardware data source

The hardware data source shows computer resources used by an IP device, located on an Asset. An example of this is:

  • Asset: Server room #1
  • IPDevice: Production FMS Server

Overall values

These are similar to the values that you will find in the windows task manager, it gives a high level picture of server health.

  • The CPU percentage is a number from 0 to 100. The number is averaged over all of the cores on the server.
  • The RAM percentage is a number from 0 to 100.
  • The Total Storage is a number from 0 to 100 averaged over all volume.

Per process CPU and RAM usage

  • The per process CPU is from a number of 0 to 100. On a multi core server, this means that the sum of all process cpu percentages can be greater than 100. The maximum value of this sum would be the number of cores * 100.
  • The RAM usage is calculated from the private memory used by the process. This excludes shared memory e.g. shared libraries. This will lead to the sum of all process's RAM usage to be less than the reported overall RAM percentage value.

Storage use by volume

  • This will give the percentage storage use per volume.

Manage Dashboard Tabs

Manage Dashboard Tab allows management of which tabs are in the dashboard, manage the library of tabs and manage sharing tabs amongst users.

  • Tab - The name of the Dashboard Tab.
  • Owner - The owner of the Dashboard Tab. Ony owners can make changes to a Dashboard Tab.
  • Last Updated - Timestamp of the last time the tab was updated.
  • Delete - This will permanently delete a Dashboard Tab. Only the tab's owner can delete a tab.
  • Sharing - This will turn on and off read sharing for other users. When a tab is shared, users other than the owner can add the tab to their dashboard. Any changes made by the owning user will be viewable by other users.Only the tab's owner can change the sharing status of a tab.
  • Copy - Tabs can be copied so they may be independently modified.
  • Add - Add the tab to the dashboard.

  • If you are unable to open the settings panel for a dashboard item, it's likely the item is using a feature in IMS not available to your user account. Therefore you are unable to edit the dashboard item.
